Millions, including kids and teens, are experiencing Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL), which is irreversible. It is also preventable with early education, and a few simple rules.

The world is getting noisier, and our hearing is at risk. Noise induced hearing loss is running rampant, even among children and teens. Of the roughly 28 million Americans suffering from hearing loss, 10 million can be attributed to Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL).

3 Basic Facts about Noise Induced Hearing Loss:

1. It is painless. The delicate hairs in your inner ear are destroyed gradually over time due to exposure to excessive or loud noise, but since you feel no pain at the time you are unaware you are suffering hearing loss until it is too late.

2. It is permanent and irreversible. Once the hairs in your inner ear are destroyed, they can never be repaired and your hearing loss is permanent.

3. It is preventable. If you follow simple precautionary rules before it is too late, you can avoid hearing loss. The key to prevention is education.

So educate yourself and your kids now before it’s too late. Hearing safety is seldom taught in schools, yet never has it been more necessary than now. A few simple rules will help save young ears for a lifetime of hearing. . .and a lifetime of music. See information, articles, and resources on how to prevent NIHL (Noise Induced Hearing Loss).
