Musical talents sweep the 2009 Kennedy Center Honors, alliteratively and tongue-twistingly so! Brubeck, Bumbry, Brooks, & “Bruce.” (Say those names fast 3 times!)  BRavo!

For 32 years, the Kennedy Center has annually honored artists for lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts—in dance, music, theater, opera, motion pictures, or television. CBS airs Kennedy Center Honors of 2009 Special on Tuesday, December 29 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT).

Performing artists honored at this gala 2009 national celebration of the arts are: writer, composer, actor, director, and producer Mel Brooks; pianist and composer Dave Brubeck; opera singer Grace Bumbry; actor, director, and producer Robert De Niro; and singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen.
